My life
During spring break I was stuck in my hometown, with no friends (apparently at 24 most people don't get a spring break anymore, whats up with that?) and no internet (darn you sbc). So I decided to take pictures... lots of pictures. I drove around town and took them of things I remember from childhood with the intention of a pictorial montage of my life. I may get bored with it before it's over. But here's the first. This is the top of a hill overlooking the neighborhood I grew up in. We used to sled down the hill when it snowed. I suppose I shouldn't say used to, I did it just last winter. It's still damn fun.

Clouds

This is actually one of my favorite pictures I've taken lately, and it's unedited, and taken by my phone. I like the clouds and the sun rays shining from them. I'm a big fan of clouds, they might be my favorite thing to take pictures of. Maybe someday I'll be the Georgia O'Keefe of clouds... only with pictures and not paintings.

Home sweet home

Not much to say about this one. I was bored and decided to snap a few shots of the house. It's my home away from work.

The beauty of Sunsets

There's really nothing like a good sunset, even if it's cloudy. On Friday I was on my way home from dropping off my friend Lynda Jo after a trip to Rick's Bakery, and I noticed the most spectacular scene. From Maple street at UBC you can see the top half of old main, and at that moment the sun was setting and the clouds had opened up just above it illuminating the clouds surrounding it and shining orange rays down on the building. I sped home, grabbed the camera (knowing I would not make it back in time) and sped back. Of course the clouds had moved, but so I took a picture of the bell tower at UBC. It's good, just not as good. Maybe I should just start lugging my camera and tripod around with me.

The things that fail to amaze me
Two interesting stories of yesterday, unfortunately only one captured. I rode the bus to school yesterday morning, the bus enters hill street, makes a loop, then exits from hill street. As we are entering hill street I notice a police car parked on the side of the road, then I notice the officer on the opposite side of the street talking with a man.

A slightly odd sight, but nothing to be concerned about I thought. Then after we make our loop I notice there is another police car, with another officer now talking with the man.

Slightly odder sight, but still, who cares. The bus stops to let a girl on, and the man the cops are talking to hops on as well. The cops seem unphased, and he enters as if nothing is amiss. An eerie silence fills the bus. The rest of the trip continued as normal.

On my way home from school I decided to walk, it was such a nice day and all. As I'm nearing my house by the bike path I notice a man holding a book, wearing pajama pants and no shirt, yelling things. As I pass I quickly snap a shot with my camera phone as I listen to him rant about president Bush. As I pass he stops yelling, closes the book, and proceeds to turn around and yell at the man sweeping behind him. (sorry for the poor quality, it is a phone after all)

Lookin out my front door

Without question my favorite time of the year is spring. Even though weather in the summer is even nicer. The fact that it is so closely contrasted with terrible weather only weeks before makes it just that much sweeter. When you open the door on a spring day... it just makes you happy.

Swing
I've taken a lot of pictures lately but either haven't like them or haven't had the time to give them a good photoshop so here's a picture I saw the other day that I really liked. It reminds me of when I was a little kid and got in trouble for jumping off the swing at school. I never once got hurt jumping off a swing, and I never flipped around it from going to high. Both things I kind of wish had happened... just for the story.
