Soybean Sunrise
My ratio of sunrise picture attempts vs sunrise picture successes is quite low. I look at the weather forecast, check radar maps, and look up the exact time of dawn, but still most days I get nothing. I don't do this often - mainly because I hate waking up early, and partially because sunsets are just way easier. Usually I just have to wait until I forget how cold/wet/tired I was the last time I tried to feel like giving it another shot.

This one was taken back in July in Kentucky. It's not my favorite sunrise picture, but it's all right.

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you
The good thing about college campuses is that there's usually some interesting architecture around. The bad thing is all the students - always loitering around.

Sometimes you can wait around for a time between classes when few are around, but other times you've got the persistent student who just wants to enjoy reading outside and you don't feel like waiting because there are other pictures you want to take and the leaves aren't going to stay this way forever. I'm sure I'm not alone here...

This is the Fulbright Peace Fountain on campus. I took this one the same day as the "It's fall ya'll" picture below.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year
I am very fortunate to have a job that requires very little work between Thanksgiving and new years, which is great for traveling to visit family and friends, but generally means a lack of posting. Hopefully I'll be back to posting a new picture per week from here on out.

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a great new year's eve. 2011 is going to be a big one, I can just feel it. See you there.

(Kinda hard to tell this one is a Christmas shot, but I promise it was. Just look at the wreaths!)
