Information Retention
Last night I went to the library to work on my statistics homework and sat down at a computer where there was a book sitting on the desk. It was the only computer open but was logged out so I went for it anyway. The book was Modern Techniques for Information Retention.

After working for a bit and spreading out all my work I needed to move the book, at which time I realized that it was not, in fact, a real book - it was too light for its size. So I opened the cover to find

After googling the book title I found that this is a Red Bull promotion - they're leaving these books in libraries for students to find. They were cold so I'm guessing it hadn't been there long. As I left I swiped the book and drank the RB with Cola. I'm not a huge Red Bull fan, so I was actually more excited about the secret compartment book.

If you live with me there's a Red Bull in the fridge with your name on it.

Sun v. Clouds
This wasn't really how I intended the picture to turn out. This was my first shot of the morning and the shutter speed was a little slow (which is why you can't see any detail around the sun). But it ended up being the only shot with the awesome sun rays, so what can you do.

Anyway I kinda like it. It looks like the morning sun is driving back the clouds from the sky.

On an unrelated note, I made it to work in record time today. Apparently all the traffic near my house is related to parents dropping off their kids at one of the many schools near us. Campus is also a little dead, but that's to be expected. I'm hoping for at least 5 out of 24 students in class tomorrow (last day of class before break and it's a 3:30pm class - I'm not holding out a lot of hope).

I'm off to Denver for Thanksgiving, so hopefully I'll get some good shots to share. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Friendsgiving
It's almost better than Thanksgiving - almost. For the past few years we've had a thanksgiving feast a bit before the actual holiday so that we can celebrate with friends. I love Thanksgiving, it's one of my favorite holidays. There's football, time with family, and a ton of good food. The only downside is you can't spend it with more of the people you love - unless you celebrate twice (I would also not be opposed to a third celebration).

I'm still getting used to the camera (shooting on auto is for pansies and people who don't know what they're doing - and I refuse to acknowledge that I am either) so bear with me through the fuzzy, poorly lit, and/or noisy pictures for now, I'll get it down one of these days...

Ice is back with a brand new invention
As Justin Timberlake brought sexy back, I am here to bring blogging back. I had grown tired of my old camera and had all but stopped taking pictures, but with the addition of my new favorite toy, I hope to bring the blog back to its long lost glory (yes, it was at one time glorious). Soon to come will be pictures of last week's Friendsgiving...
