Dark Blue |
One of these days I will figure out how to make a beautiful yet realistic looking sky. But not today. Every time I take a picture of a beautiful blue sky I look at the picture and it's never as blue as I remember it and I wonder if maybe that's just how it really looked, and maybe I'm just trying to remember something more beautiful than it was. Or maybe it's just the camera, who knows.
slow down... this night is a perfect shade of dark blue. |

Sometimes a camera can't capture the beauty of real life...
What do you mean "this night..." it says you posted at 9 this morning? Are you quoting a song or something?

in any picture you usually want to get a nice, solid black. so maybe the lack of black may be why you don't have a real looking blue. tweak the exposure and aperture (like a longer exposure or bigger aperture) to let more light in to make it darker.
colors are tough though. maybe try saturating the picture a little in photoshop. it's hard to capture something vast (ie. the sky). like callan said.
dark blue. dark blue.

longer exposure and a tripod. i took the most beautiful pictures in seattle at night with a long exposure time. the camera soaks up a lot more light.
